Kelly R. Tate, M.Ed, LPC
Meet the Counselor
It is with profound sadness that we let you know Kelly has lost her battle with cancer. Kelly was our dear colleague, friend, and a trusted member of the community. She will be remembered for many wonderful qualities. Her warmth and sincerity with our clients was always appreciated by everyone. We are fortunate to have known her and will remember her always.
Kelly Tate is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of experience in the Mental/Behavioral Health profession. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree is in Education Counseling with a specialty in Mental Health.
Kelly has experience working with individuals, families and groups. She has worked with diverse populations in the areas of impulse control, problem solving, conflict resolution, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, abuse issues and confidence/esteem issues.
Kelly knows that sometimes in life we experience loss, tragedy or trauma and navigating through this process can be overwhelming. One may feel defeated or even stuck in life but you can begin again. Like the Brugmansia flower you can bloom in what seems like the darkest season in your life. Your experiences and circumstances in life DON’T define you or your destiny.
Kelly uses a solution focused approach with her clients implementing cognitive behavioral techniques to empower them to reach their goals in a healthy way. This involves discovering the beliefs, values and feelings that are impediments in their life and facilitate change.
In addition, Kelly is a Christian counselor and uses a biblically based counseling approach with any client that
seeks faith-based counseling.
